While Dean Hall obsessed over re-doing the UI and changing the code to allow you to wear individual pieces of clothing the DayZ mod sped forward with DayZ Epoch. It did include many bugs that were there in the mod version like zombie's walking through walls, zombie's hitting you through walls and obstacle's, invisible zombie's and zombie's that had super sight and super vision.

It shipped minus any significant weapons, no vehicles, no camp making abilities etc. The design, the game mechanics, art, and most of the terrain were already in place in the mod they just had to port it into its own standalone game. This wasn't a game that was made from the ground up. DayZ standalone was then over 12 months late releasing and shipped with many features missing that the mod had. The 'oh but its alpha' really doesn't wash with this title as its based on existing work done on a mod that was over a year old before the idea of a standalone was even mentioned. He has only been playing Standalone so does not understand the history behind the game. It would be like saying some of the worst XBOX or Playstation fan boys that infest N4G are somehow representative of those platforms as a whole.

I completed a mission on my own and sold all the weapons lining my pockets with gold and it only took hours to do with no fear of losing anything.

However, after about 3 hours I had accumulated great gear, a loaded Ural (there were AI missions) and even managed to fortify a barn.
